After the new controversial Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer dropped, I got curious. So, in my spare time, I did what everyone did, look up the full cast for BvS on IMDb...and I found some interesting things that I'd like to share.
NOTE: This is more of a discussion than anything else, although I will give my opinion on some matters. Obviously, potential spoilers.
The Island Scientist
The fact that the island is not specified, probably means that the name of the island is insignificant...or it could be a secret that they don't want to spoil. The other to thing to take in is that I could only find one island scientist. My thoughts are:
-The island is Arkham.
-The island is NOT Themescrya, since men are not allowed on the island.
The Fighter Trainer
Again, the fact that the 'fighter' isn't specified, probably means that the 'fighter' is an insignificant character. But the fighter is not credited, so the trainer does have some importance. This one is probably just boxing trainer or something, but still it could play out completely different in the movie.
CIA Special Ops
When there's someone like Superman around, obviously organisations like the CIA would get involved. But the interesting thing is that the character is working for the CIA Special Ops, meaning that he is a field agent. My interpretation is that, since the movie is influenced by both The Dark Knight Returns and Injustice: Gods Among Us.
I think that the government could send an agent to kidnap someone Superman loves, to try and control Superman, just like they do in the Injustice comic books. Just a thought.
Nairomian Crying Women
Now, when I typed in 'Nairomian' in google, nothing useful came up. But that fact that they are black and crying suggests that there may be a DC version of Wakanda, and that a disaster happens there.
There are more football-related roles, but I think you get the idea. Evidently, something significant to do with Football happens. This could be Zack Snyder showing respect to Christopher Nolan for starting this whole thing.
Gotham Police Captain Knight
The last word is what made this interesting for me, 'knight'. Interpret what you will from that, but one thing for certain is that Valiant Michael is playing the captain of the GCPD.
Maybe Superman starts to interfere more than inspire, which causes the president of Chile to tell the Americans to not interfere with their nation.
Russian Foreign Minister
In the previous two trailers for Batman v Superman, we saw Superman presumably stopping a Russian vessel from launching, and definitely saving the pilots.
This is where the 'Russian Foreign Minister' comes in, and maybe also the president of Chile. Maybe other countries have had enough of Superman interfering, that they all complained to the US. There is a line from the first trailer:
"Let the records show that this committee...hold him responsible."
Let's presume that the 'him' is Superman. Where the obvious crime that he is responsible for would seem to be the destruction of Man of Steel, there could be a possible second event that Superman is held responsible for. Perhaps like sabotaging other nations.
Well, that about wraps it up, and make sure to share your thoughts in the comments below!
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25th, 2016.
