Thor and The Vision are big names in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, serving as two key members alongside characters such as Captain America, Hulk, and Black Widow.
But have you ever wondered what it would be like to see the two heavy-hitters face off against one another? The video above shows just that!
If you follow the comic books you'll know that the pair have faced-off once before, with Thor coming out on top.
However, the deleted scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron is the first of it's kind to (almost) appear on the silver screen. It's hard to say why the editors choose to cut the awesome scene. It's possible they thought it just wasn't fitting for the movie, or maybe they were hoping to show a more dramatic showdown between the two established heroes at a later date.
So... what do we see in the deleted scene?
Check it out below:
To start with we witness Thor reviving Vision. So far so good, I'm pretty sure we've seen this already in the final cut.
The Vision is then born and immediately spoils for a fight. It's unclear why the writers chose to include this brawl between Vision and Thor, but we can speculate that it served as a means of introducing Vision and his potential as an Avenger to the cinematic audience.
As proof of the incredible power possessed by The Vision, we see him throw down with Thor and hold his own against the God.
The scene seems to exist in order to show off Vision's power as he allows a certain vibranium shield to phase through him. As Captain America, Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye don't play much of a role in the fight, I can only imagine that the writers didn't want Vision bested, rather they simply wanted him to spar a little with the Asgardian.
The scene then allows Vision to advertise a variety of his abilities, including his trademark beam of solar and infrared radiation.
We then see him truly become The Vision, as he defies the laws of physics in order to conjure his armor and cape... I've always thought that was particularly impressive. If I'm ever to defy the laws of physics it will definitely be for an outright ridiculous reason.
Finally, we see evidence that the scene was cut long before the final edit, as there are moments where we see the green screen, as well as incomplete costumes and sets. Here we see wires attached to Paul Bettany as he battles Chris Hemsworth, a.k.a. Thor.
It's good to see these pre-release moments, showing us how surreal the on screen moments look before they arrive in the cinemas, chiseled to perfection. But here's the question: who would win in a battle between the MCU's Thor and Vision? Place your bets below!
Who would win in a fight, Thor of Vision?
