I wanted this movie to be great. This movie could've been amazing but instead Pixar used animation that makes the dinosaurs in "Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" look good. Seriously compare the two, it's really sad. Anyways let's get this review over with, here's The "Good" Dinosaur.

Brief Spoiler Free Summary

65 Million years ago, a meteorite is about to hit the Earth, wiping out all the Dinosaurs....but it misses. Now Dinosaurs roam the Earth and kid humans act like the baby from "The Croods" (no joke, do a comparison) and a baby dinosaur must travel across the land with cowboy t-rexes and the baby from "The Croods" in a search of his family after being separated.

The Characters or Dinosaurs

Arlo voiced by Raymond Ochoa ("Yogi Bear", "Mars Needs Moms", "The Angry Birds Movie") is the worst protagonist in any Pixar film aside from red car from the Cars franchise. He's so annoying, he doesn't know when to shut up and makes the most annoying yells in the world.

Butch the Cowboy T-Rex, voiced by Sam Elliott ("Mask", "Tombstone", "The Big Lebowski") is probably the best character in the film. However, that's not saying much since he's technically a bad character. The only thing that's cool about him is that it's Sam Elliott which leads me to a very good question. Why is Sam Elliott voicing an animated cowboy T-Rex.

Jack Bright ("Monsters University", "American's Most Wanted: America Fights Back") voices Spot and it's just the baby from "The Croods". That's it, that's all it is. He was annoying there, he's annoying here.

There's other characters like Thunderclap, played by Steve Zahn ("Dr. Dolittle 2", "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", "Escape From Planet Earth") and Forrest Woodbush played by Peter Sohn who's actually an animator at Pixar. These characters aren't really that important but they're decent at best.

The Animation

The background animation is amazing, some of the best Pixar animation in years! But then....the dinosaurs. WHY DID PIXAR MAKE THE DINOSAURS LOOK LIKE REJECTS FROM "ICE AGE 3" WHAT THE HELL! I'm sorry but this is complete horsecrap. I mean seriously, if your animation looks so bad that "Ice Age" looks good in comparison, you need to step up your skills for your next film. In other words, The Good Dinosaur has some of the worst Pixar animation in recent years.

The Cons

Most of the characters are either crap, annoying or forgettable and the animation is so god awful for the dinosaurs. The story actually rips off the first "Ice Age" film numerous times and like I said before the caveman kid is basically the same as the "The Croods". I'm serious, again I've said it before, but just do a comparison.

The Good Dinosaur is another major flop for Pixar in my opinion. The last couple of Pixar's films have just been showing the film studio's slow decline over the years. Hopefully "The Incredibles 2" and "Coco" will be good.

Thanks for reading the review, now I know I talked shit on "Good Dinosaur" but please people don't start something in the comments because I think Pixar is going down the drain. Anyways, next review is "Krampus" and the next blog will be out this weekend and it'll be about the most underrated films I know. And finally a review of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
