After being stalled by its heroine's pregnancy and a severe accident that seriously injured a stunt person, [Resident Evil 6: The Final Chapter](tag:671270) has finally wrapped filming after a grueling four-month shoot in Cape Town, South Africa.
Milla Jovovich is clearly proud of the footage that the team has produced and she's been blowing up Instagram for the last couple of weeks showing off some awesome behind the scenes shots that give fans a feel for the general atmosphere backstage.
Jovovich also excitedly reached out to her fans on Instagram to share her joy and expectations for the movie on the final day of shooting, she wrote:
Last day shooting #residentevilthefinalchapter!! It's so exciting to finish and I really know you guys are gonna flip when you see it! Also, follow our camera operator @xxxlargexxx for more BTS photos of the movie!!! Loads of love! Xo m
Despite the fact that this was the set of a violent, post-apocalyptic horror, the backstage snapshots show it was a real family affair with Jovovich and her co-star, Ali Larter, caring for their kids on set – battle scars and all.
Jovovich also shared some atmospheric snaps of the set which give us a taste of the aesthetics of the final movie in the cult franchise.
Milla also shared a throwback snap of her sporting some dramatic prosthetic scars for Resident Evil: Apocalypse, which was filmed over a decade ago.
Despite the fact that the first Resident Evil first burst onto a screens in a blaze of violence 13 years ago in 2002, Milla Jovovich has hardly changed a bit as the side-by-side image below proves:
Although it will be sad to wave goodbye to Alice for one final time, at least it looks like the franchise will go out with a suitably bloody bang.
