So I was just watching the tv for a bit...and I noticed something on a Duracell commercial (of all things) that made me think about the plot of the upcoming Star Wars 7 movie. The commercial is licensed by The Force Awakens (or by Disney, if you want to be specific), because it uses the graphic at the end for the movie, and the theme, subject matter, etc. Observe.

Well, the thing that made me think is that, the way the commercial plays out, this boy is putting batteries in his light saber replica, and runs out to save his sister, as she's being escorted into a ship by storm troopers (In case you didn't bother to watch the commercial, or haven't caught it on TV yet). Of course, this is all fantasy, in the minds of the children, but the thing that makes me wonder is that the girl, who is obviously fashioned after Rey, the main female protagonist in the movie. As she turns to spout her witty one liner, the elbows one trooper in the gut. This is in line with what we've seen of her character in the previews, as she's a salvager on the planet of Jakku. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

The part that makes me wonder is when she turns to the other storm trooper, extends her hands, and he flies away, without ever coming in contact with the girl. Now, this could be a number of things. It could just be poor choreography for the "fight" scene in a commercial. It could be they were trying not to look too graphic, since it involves children.

But I think it might be something of a hint to Rey's character in the movie. I believe Duracell accidentally confirmed that Rey is a force user. Now, there's been talk of Rey being a burgeoning Jedi, but nothing confirmed. This, however, along with Wal-Mart's promotion of a Rey action figure (complete with light saber accessory) nails it down, in my mind.

Now, there are other possibilities. The fact that the boy is dressed as a full on Jedi, and is the girl's brother MIGHT not fit with the story of the movie...or does it? We won't know for sure, until the movie comes out on December the 14th (Where is the Tardis when you need it?), but I think this is a pretty good indicator.
