As of Season 6 of the entire The Walking Dead cast, there are only six characters remaining from the first season -- Rick, Carl, Carol, Daryl, Morgan and Glenn Rhee. Pretty crazy right? Even crazier is that of those six people, Glenn Rhee is the only one who has never killed another human being.

Glenn's transformation throughout the seasons of The Walking Dead is quite remarkable. Unlikely most other characters, Glenn has managed to learn insane survival skills while still maintaining his humanity and positive attitude. Not an easy feat when you're one of Rick Grimes right hand men!

There's no denying Glenn's come along way since delivering pizzas in the pre-apocalyptic world, so check out his journey from Season 1 in Atlanta, to his more recent brush with death in Season 6:

Aside from Rick (and Morgan), Glenn was the first of the gang to be introduced to audiences at the very end of the premiere episode when he uttered those sweet words "Hey you, dumbass. Yeah you in the tank. Cozy in there?"

Right from the get go, Glenn's kindhearted and brave nature was evident. In episode 2, he risked it all to help Rick escape the tank, explored possible escape routes in the sewers, then covered himself in walker guts to help the group escape the department store. And in episode 4 he once again showed his bravery when he attempted to get the group's bag of guns back from the Vatos. Throughout Season 1 we learn a bit about Glenn's background, such as him being the son of Korean immigrants, and that prior to the apocalypse he delivered pizzas.

Season 2

Glenn joined the rest of the Atlanta survivors in Season 2 as first they broke down on the highway, got separated from Sophia and then met up with the Greene family. It was on the Greene family farm that Glenn's willingness to help the group was shown again when he was lowered into a well to try and rescue a bloated walker from a well. But despite almost being bitten by the walker, his bravery managed to catch the attention of his now-wife, Maggie Greene!

Glenn helps get the prison in order in Season 3, as the group try to make it a new home. After Hershel's leg is amputated Glenn's caring nature is shown by his dedication to helping to nurse him, and in return Hershel gives Glenn his family's pocket watch. Unfortunately in this same season, Glenn is also taken hostage by Merle and the Governor and brutally beaten, tied up and left to fend off a walker. However, Glenn proves he's not just a kind face when he shows off his survival skills and manages to survive. At the very end of the season Glenn proposes to Maggie.

Season 4

Season 4 is testing for Glenn. First up he gets extremely ill with the virus going around the prison residents, and then as he starts to recover, the Governor attacks and he is separated from the group as everyone escapes accidentally leaving him behind.

Glenn again shows his brave and selfless nature when he awakens after the Governors attack and saves Tara Chambler, despite her initially fighting against them to take over the prison. Glenn actually shows incredible kindness to Tara in Season 4 -- further in the season her foot is caught in a tunnel and rather than leave her to be eaten, he refuses. Fortunately the pair are then saved by Maggie and the rest of the group from the prison.

Season 5

After being captured by the Termites, Glenn escapes a very near death in the Season 5 premiere. Despite his brush with death, he showed how he has still maintained his humanity when he convinces Rick to free a prisoner trapped in another container. In episode 4 of the series, Glenn again shows that despite having been in Rick's group since the beginning, he doesn't share his brutal mindset, looking on in horror as Rick, Abraham, Sasha and Michonne massacre Gareth and his people.

Once the group reaches Alexandria, Glenn quickly establishes himself as a capable and strong member of the community, establishing dominance over Alexandria residents such as Nicholas and Aiden. Unfortunately Glenn suffers the loss of a close friend when Noah is brutal killed by walkers before his eyes, thanks to Nicholas. And later on he himself is nearly killed by Nicholas, though manages to gain the upper-hand. However when presented with the chance to kill Nicholas and be done with him, his kind and forgiving nature shines through and he gives the coward one last chance.

After Rick finds a quarry full of walkers, Glenn is one of the main group who volunteers to help lead them away from Alexandria. Unfortunately when this plan goes awry Glenn nearly loses his life. After deciding to give Nicholas one more chance, Glenn sets off with him to create a distraction for the walkers, but ends up trapped in an alleyway. When Nicholas is unable to cope with the pressure, he kills himself and literally drags Glenn down with him. After an excruciating wait, it is revealed that Glenn managed to survive the ordeal, and as the first half of the season ends, Glenn and Enid make their way to the edge of Alexandria to see it in a state of chaos. We also learned this season that Glenn and Maggie are expecting a baby, so whatever happens to him in future seasons, it seems as though his kind and selfless spirit will be passed on to a new generation.

'The Walking Dead' returns to AMC with the Season 6 mid-season premiere on February 14, 2016.
