Since the world's most powerful superheroes will be squaring off in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War coming in 2016, I thought I would set the stage for what would be eight absolutely improbable but totally awesome battles between my favorite female badasses. My male match ups can be found here.

I obviously have opinions on who would win, but I'd like to hear yours. Make your picks and/or tell me why in the comment section. In the coming weeks, I will tally the votes from this article and the male version and create a coed winner's bracket. So make sure to vote and stay tuned!

1. Rita Vrataski vs. Imperator Furiosa

Vrataski (Blunt) vs. Furiosa (Theron)
Vrataski (Blunt) vs. Furiosa (Theron)

Rita, portrayed by Emily Blunt in 2014's Edge of Tomorrow, is highly trained alien-killing machine known to the general public as "The Full Metal Bitch." Furiosa was the protagonist of 2015's summer blockbuster, Mad Max: Fury Road. The post-apocalyptic amazonian War Rig driver was played on the big screen by Oscar winner Charlize Theron.

The only way to make this a fair fight would be if it was hand to hand combat, meaning that Vrataski would not be allowed to wear her battle suit (which is equipped with machine guns and a helicopter blade that she fashioned into a sword). Furiosa is an amputee, but I'm unsure if her metal arm evens the playing field or if it would give her an advantage. However, one of the best battles in Mad Max is between Furiosa and Max, and she proves that she is more than able to take on an opponent sans metal appendage.

While Vrataski's fighting style is acrobatic and stylized, Furiosa's is brutal and desperate. In a fight to the death, I believe that Furiosa would have a greater will to survive. But it sure would be an awesome fight!

2. Hit Girl vs. Hanna

Hit Girl (Moretz) vs. Hanna (Ronan)

The youngest battle I have lined up for today. Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) was 10-12 in the first Kick-Ass, and 15 in the second. Hanna (Saorise Ronan) was 13 in Hanna.

Both girls were trained to be killers by their fathers. Hanna, however, was genetically engineered. Even so, my gut says that Hit Girl would come out on top.

3. Katniss Everdeen vs. Hope Van Dyne

Everdeen (Lawrence) vs. Van Dyne (Lilly)
Everdeen (Lawrence) vs. Van Dyne (Lilly)

Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is the revolutionary leader of the battle for The Capitol in The Hunger Games. Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lily) is the daughter of Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, as well as the combat trainer for Scott Lang, the new Ant-Man. She, herself, is the future Wasp.

For this to be a fair fight, Van Dyne would not be allowed to use her Wasp technology, and Everdeen would not be able to bring her bow.

In a hand to hand fight, I just don't see Everdeen being victorious. She's a lot of things, but a technically trained fighter is not one of them.

4. Clarice Starling vs. Dana Scully

Clarice (Foster) vs. Scully (Anderson)
Clarice (Foster) vs. Scully (Anderson)

When I say Clarice, I mean the REAL Clarice: Jodie Foster.

Both Clarice and Scully are '90s mainstays from The Silence of The Lambs and The X-Files, respectively. Both have seen some messed up stuff, and both generally come out on top. Scully (Gillian Anderson) always has to get her ass kicked first, though, and Foster's Clarice was really only battle tested once.

This one's a toss up for me. The character of Dana Scully was actually based off of Clarice, so they feel inherently similar.

5. Queen Ravenna vs. Maleficent

Ravenna (Theron) vs. Maleficent (Jolie)
Ravenna (Theron) vs. Maleficent (Jolie)

This one seems like a no-brainer to me. While Maleficent (Angelina Jolie), deep down, would like to do good, Ravenna (Charlize Theron) is a (damaged to the point of no return) psychopath. Ravenna takes it.

6. Amy Dunne vs. Lady Lucille Sharpe

Both Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) from Gone Girl and Lucille Sharpe (Jessica Chastain) from Crimson Peak are calculating psychopaths. While Dunne is colder and more intelligent, Sharpe is ill-tempered and more emotionally unstable. If given the time to create an elaborate conspiracy against Lucille, Amy would win, that is if Lucille weren't already slowly poisoning Amy... If the battle were to come to blows (or stabs), I think Lucille could overpower Amy if given the proper motivation.

7. Captain Marvel vs. Wonder Woman

Cap. Marvel vs. Wonder Woman

With extreme bias and very little analytical evaluation, I'm going to say Wonder Woman. I grew up reading DC comics and Wonder Woman was/is simply THE role model. If DC and Marvel ever did a crossover, though, I'd like to see this play out in an arena.

8. Annalise Keating vs. Bedelia Du Maurier

Keating (Davis) vs. Bedelia (Anderson)
Keating (Davis) vs. Bedelia (Anderson)

I would love to sit at a table with Emmy winning character Annalise Keating (Viola Davis – How to Get Away With Murder) and should-be Emmy winner Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson, Hannibal). Both are obviously very intelligent and accomplished women... and both wrestle with the "darkness" within them. The difference, I think, is that Annalise occasionally lets her circumstances frazzle her. While Bedelia, despite being "married" to a cannibalistic serial killer, always remains cool as a cucumber. Annalise has more ability to empathize and is able to feel regret, while Bedelia surprised Hannibal by proving that birds of a feather flock together. Bedelia would win, and her heart would never beat above 60.
