Chuck's Movie Minute

One of the year’s sure fire Oscar favorites this movie must first be praised for the amazing performance of a star packed ensemble cast. The story follows the globe spotlight team as they break the case of the Boston catholic priest abuse scandal in 2001. For a movie with such a delicate subject manor I feel it was executed flawlessly. The plot never seems to lag and the characters stories take a back seat to the plot of the film and the events and people who made it happen. However this movie has no gripping moments to draw people in and really is just as much a historical documentary as it is a film. All in all for my reviews I consider this a strong film and highly praise both the director and the cast for telling such a sensitive story in such a strong way. Go see this movie if you want a jump start on the Oscar race for sure. Strong performances by Michael Keaton, Rachael Mcadams, and Marc Rufalo really shine thru and the ignorance of the Catholic Church and Boston pd are almost repulsive when seen in hindsight but it’s worth a watch in a slow movie season
