He's better known for '90s and early '00s classics such as Mallrats, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but the actor/director Kevin Smith may have just pulled an idea for an awesome superhero movie out of the bag while still remaining sincere to one of his oldest pals in the movie bizz, Ben Affleck.
Appearing in the latest 'Movie Fights' video from Screen Junkies, Smith was asked to pitch a film idea which would pit superheroes from Marvel and DC against each other. And, although he begins his musings by saying that he'd rather go for two characters he's never seen before, he ultimately opts for the sure fire money maker: Batman vs. Iron Man.
Not so enthused by the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice plot line, stating that he's never really viewed the characters as the opposites Warner Bros. is claiming them to be, Smith believes it would be far more interesting to see an ultimate battle of the playboys, The Dark Knight (Ben Affleck) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr).
"I want to do the titanic team-up versus, which would be the millionaire, playboy, money fight: Batman versus Iron Man. I think it would be more interesting to have two billionaires with questionable...their parents didn't get to spend their whole lives with them, let's say. Who turn to crime-fighting using money and technology to make their fight."

Well, it's certainly an interesting idea, and one I can definitely picture raking in the big box office bucks, though I think we'll have to wait until Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released next year to know for sure.
