It has been quite the week hasn't it? From the long-awaited release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens to the fantastic content created by both old and new Creators. Not to mention, the holidays are coming up. Like we do every Friday, we'd like to use this opportunity to highlight the top 10 posts from some of this week's cool kids. Be sure to check out their interesting and creative posts, and don't forget to show them all some well deserved love! Happy Friday to all you lovely Creators!
PS: The Force is strong with the top 10 this week.
"Hello, it's me! I've been wondering if..." Oops, sorry. New Creator Al Viscardi started his post with the following questions: "Where are the Sith in The Force Awakens? Are they now the Knights of Ren?", questions to which we probably know the answer to by now (but let's keep this a spoiler free zone, shall we). Were Al's speculations correct, was he onto something? Check out his post (even if you haven't seen The Force Awakens just yet) and be sure to leave a comment.
Everything and anything Harry Potter-related brings me right back to my childhood, which is why I am so excited about Julie's informative article. Instead of creating a quiz, she explains what each Hogwarts house stands for, hereby eliminating any misconceptions we might have about Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and the other 3 houses. Being both creative and hard-working, ambitious and resourceful, I find myself on the border between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. How about you? Be sure to check out this great read and to show Julie's post love!
The countdown is FINALLY over and I think i'm not far from the truth when I say that most (if not all) of us have either seen The Force Awakens by now or have plans to go see it in the next couple of days. Creator Renaud Roche has created incredible sketches to celebrate the release of this latest addition to the Star Wars franchise featuring new faces, as well as some of our familiar and beloved characters. His work deserves your love so be sure to leave him a comment!
I've got to be honest, I wasn't too familiar with The Expanse before I discovered new Creator Christopher Rodney's post. The series premieres on December 14, 2015, but I've got some good news for you because you can actually watch the first episode right now on Syfy's YouTube channel. If you're not sure whether or not you should be giving this new series minutes of your time then fear not, because Christopher has compiled a list of reasons for you to head on over to Youtube.
I'm not going to lie, the title of this post ALMOST stopped me from clicking on the article but that would've been a BIG mistake because Don't Move is one fantastic horror short that everyone should watch. Whether you're a horror fan or not, this film, directed by Anthony Melton, Produced by Ben Franklin and written by David Scullion, will have you glued to your screen from beginning to end. Be sure to check out Ben's post and don't forget to show some love in the comments!
This week, and probably the entire remainder of 2015, there is no such thing as 'too much Star Wars' and new Creator Steve Brown probably agrees with me. His project perfectly illustrates that "photography is about being brilliant at lighting, or capturing a decisive moment, but often it's as much about collaborating with other talented people to [realize] a vision as it is about your own skills." His Star Wars-inspired version of The Last Supper is the coolest thing you'll see this week!
I cannot get enough of amazing fan art. Ever. Which is why Luis Pinto's fantastic alternative Star Wars posters just had to make it into the top 10. Did I mention they're Star Wars-related? Based on the original trilogy, Pinto's work features some of our favorite characters, and he uses the concept of the force and the amazing ships/tech pieces to create a series that truly embodies the popular franchise. Star Wars fan or not, you will want one of these pieces for your home!
With the hype of Captain America: Civil War upon us, it has seemingly distracted us from the focus on Spider-man but new Creator Arthur King is here to change that. Not sure what to think of this third Spider-man adaptation? Arthur's got you covered and is here to tell you whether or not the film change the way we think about the character? After Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland might be just what the franchise needs to succeed. Be sure to check out the post!
Are you still with me? Good, because I've got one last Star Wars: The Force Awakens article for you. Let's refrain from talking about spoilers and plot lines for just a moment, and instead take a look at the man behind the movie; J.J. Abrams, and why he is the perfect man for the job. He's no stranger to franchises, successful and full of ideas, which is why Creator Tom Kuegler is certain he'll bring a big payload of lens flares to Star Wars and do the franchise justice.
Can't get enough of Moviepilot? We've got you covered!
