As I was on the way home from work today, pondering things and generally daydreaming about this crazy thing we call life, I realised something.

2016 is going to be awesome for films!!

Now there are many films that are coming out next year and I have taken it upon myself to share with you my favourite 5 ( although I would like to point out that this list is liable to change numerous times over the next few months)

Number one on my "OH MY GOD I REALLY WANNA SEE THIS" list is

Captain America: Civil War

When this trailer dropped, so did my jaw. I must have watched the trailer about 20 times so far. It had everything that you could ask for. Iron Man and Cap at loggerheads, the new Falcon suit, our first look at Black Panther and and epic showdown between Cap, Bucky and Iron Man. Not only that but it also showed that this film is going to try to hit you right in the feels. If you didn't get a bit misty eyed with the line "So was I"...

...then you are dead inside.

And for your viewing pleaseure here is that epic trailer.

Next up on my list is this bad boy:

If ever there was a film that the fans have been crying out for, then this is the one. And boy does it look like they have got it right on the money. We had leaked footage that started the ball rolling. We had an awesome Comic Con panel where there were swear words a plenty (which just made the fans love it more) and then we got this awesome trailer (its the Red Band one so be warned there is some swearing and violence)

This film is going to give Ryan Reynolds the chance to redeem himself for Green Lantern, R.I.P.D and Blade Trinity. In terms of casting for this film, Mr Reynolds is the perfect choice for this role. The promo's for Deadpool have been fantastic and Reynolds sense of humour fits so well thats its hard not to see this going well. The line in the trailer when he says about not making the super suit green or animated is brilliant.

Number 3 on the list is a meeting of 2 Legendary heroes.

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice

This film seems to go from one side of the scale to the other. When the tite of the film was released at Comic Con, the roof damn nearly blew off. When they announced that Ben Afflech would be donning the Bat-Suit, there seemed to be a sigh that went across the world, like a billion geeks all groaned at the same time. Then once there was a pic of him in the suit people couldn't believe how awesome he looked.

When the first teaser trailer dropped for the film people complained about the look of the film and weren't sure what the story line was going to be. Then we get the new trailer and oh my word, suddenly the film looks amazing. Aside from the shot of Doomsday, which I didn't like at first but am now coming round to on the assumption that his appearence evolves as he starts to fight, the trailer was amazing. The shots of Batman and Superman had hints of stories that fans know and love. Add into the mix the fantastic casting of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and this is going to be a massive hit next year.

Here is the newest trailer in case you haven't seen it yet.

Number 4 on the list is this cheeky little number.

X-Men: Apocalypse

This is another film that has had very different reactions from trailers and pictures that have been released. The first shots of Apocalypse did not go down well at all. People were likening him to Ivan the Ooze from Power Rangers and it generally wasn't going down well at all. Well, since the new trailer arrived it seems that some minds have been changed. Gone is the purple looking Apocalypse and in comes a more badass looking one. The Four Horsemen comprised of Magneto, Storm, Archangel and Psylocke look amazing (well the first 3 do, we don't see much of Psylocke). Storm especially looks like she is going to be a lot differnet from the Halle Berry that we are used to. More importantly we finally get to see James McAvoy as a bald Prof Xavier in a fantastic money shot at the end of the trailer. Speaking of which here is the trailer for you to a gander over.

And finally on the list, and this is also another one that I can absolutely not wait for...

Suicide Squad

This poster alone just gives you a hint of how awesome this film is going to be. The cast is very impressive and also not who you would expect to be cast. The cast includes Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robie is Harley Quinn (perfect catsing), Carla Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag. I think that this film is going to be a sleeper hit of 2016. It has characters that some people will not know as well as others but I don't think its going to affect it that much due to a certain Mr J. The chemistry between him and Harley is going to be electric and I can't wait to see it on the big screen.

Everyone is going be watching this to see exactly what Jared Leto does with his version of the Joker. There are going to be a lot of people that will say that it is nothing compared to the Heath Ledger Joker from The Dark Knight, but I think its going to be a great version. I said it earlier but I think that Margot Robie is going to be brilliant as Harley Quinn. I also think that the way she becomes the character is going to be something special to see.

Here is a reminder of that awesome trailer.

What do you think of the films I have in my top 5. Do you agree with them or is there a certain film that you can't wait to see. Mine are all superhero based but thats because I am a massive geek. Aside from the superhero films there are some absolute corkers that will be released next year and here is a short list of some of them

The Hateful Eight, Zoolander 2, Doctor Strange, Independence Day: Resurgence, TMNT: Out of the Shadows and Star Trek Beyond.

Thats all for now.

See you soon.
