Some spoilers for 'X-Men: Apocalypse' lie ahead. I won't be offering a trailer breakdown, but some spoilers are inevitable.
This week we were introduced to the trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, which showed us a number of awesome moments from the latest installment of the X-Men franchise. Among these excerpts, from what is sure to be an incredible movie, we saw a glimpse of Quicksilver, played by Even Peters.
Debates are inevitable when it comes to movies such as this: huge franchises with a loyal fan-base and histories which stretch back into the realms of the comic books.
You could be coming at X-Men: Apocalypse having never seen an X-Men movie, in which case I encourage you to watch them. Perhaps you're movie fan with limited comic book knowledge, in which case, sit back and enjoy! Or maybe you're a die-hard comic book fan with a wealth of knowledge and a bounteous array of opinions on the who, what, where and why of it all.
However, we can all agree on one thing: in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Quicksilver held the spotlight, despite not being in the movie for long. If Days of Future Past taught us anything it's that Quicksilver is awesome and Even Peters is the perfect actor to portray the Marvel speedster.
Before I continue, you have to check out the Pentagon kitchen scene from Days of Future Past! It's easily one of the finest comic book fight scenes ever!
Well after that spectacular performance it can't come as a surprise to anyone that Evan Peters is reprising his role as Quicksilver for X-Men: Apocalypse. Moreover, it looks as though they're going to try and top his scene from Days of Future Past!
Fox are keeping quiet about his role in the movie, however, in an interview with Empire director Bryan Singer had this to say:
“There’s one sequence that took one and a half months to shoot for three minutes of film."
Okay, Singer, you've piqued our interest... but is he hinting at more Quicksilver?
"It involves the most complex camera moves, very sophisticated explosive algorithms, 3D Phantom cameras traveling at 50mph while shooting at 3,100 frames per second."
Well that sounds awesome... but does it involve Even Peter's Quicksilver?
"Evan worked more days on this movie than any other actor because of this one sequence.”
So there you have it folks, we're getting a hell of a Quicksilver scene in X-Men: Apocalypse!
We've seen a glimpse of Evan in the trailer, but it looks like his role in the movie will be a good one!
I can't wait!
