Do. Or do not. It's really up to you.

To celebrate the premiere of The Force Awakens, Facebook now allows you to add a lightsaber to your profile photo. It can be either blue or red, light or dark, it looks really cool and it's super simple to do.

Here is the step-by-step guide on how to become a (Facebook) Jedi.

1. Pick a side

Whether you want to be a Jedi or a Sith is up to you, and luckily we have both options available. If you feel the pull of the dark side, visit this link to get Kylo Ren's lightsaber, and if you'd rather follow the Jedi Code click on this link to get Finn's lightsaber.

2. Find the magical button

Below each picture you will find a button on the right side that says 'Try It.' If you can't see it, it might be because you have the photo in one of those pop-up thingies. Just click on the side of that and you should be able to see the photo and the Try It button underneath. This is the point where you click on that button!

3. Adjust

A new window will appear, and now you can adjust the position and how zoomed in the photo is. If you've changed your mind about which side you're on, you can also easily change that by changing between the two icons on the right.

In the bottom right corner you can also pick when you want to switch back to your normal profile picture. The standard setting is one week, but you can also choose between one hour, one day and never.

The only thing left to do after this is to click the button in the bottom right corner that says "Use as Profile Picture." And that's it, you now officially have a lightsaber in your profile picture.

If you're doing this I would love to see it, so feel free to take a screenshot and leave it in a comment on Facebook or tweet it. May the Force be with you!

Which lightsaber did you pick?
