Just in time for Christmas, the video team over at Mode has put together a nostalgic review of popular children's toys over the last 100 years.

Traveling from 1910 to 2015, igniting sparks of recognition in our dusty old brains, the video is an interesting comparison of the simplistic relics that entertained children only a few decades ago and the technological wonders that are required to satisfy at modern day play time.

Check out a few of the highlights from the video:

Spinning top from the '30s

Badass Robot from the '50s

Care Bears and Cabbage Patch Dolls from the '80s

Electric Hover board (that doesn't quite hover) from 2015

The video covered quite a broad base and got me thinking about the toys that I cherished most growing up.

Remember when 'Home Alone 2' came out and everyone got one of these for Christmas?...

When I was at school, anyone who was anyone had a Tamagotchi.

And Polly pocket was a necessary savior from boredom on long car trips, grocery shopping with parents, and dinner at the grandparents'.
