Most of us will be familiar with Bruce Springsteen's 1984 single 'Dancing in the Dark'. In the video, a young Courteney Cox is pulled onstage at the St. Paul Civic Center to dance with Springsteen (if not, you can watch the video here).

So, who else has starred in a music video before they hit the big time? Let's take a look at some famous faces, and the videos that they starred in, and don't forget to sound off in the comments section below!

Channing Tatum

Before shooting to fame in films including 21 Jump Street (2012), Magic Mike (2012) and The Hateful Eight (2015), Channing Tatum starred in Ricky Martin's 2000 video for 'She Bangs'.

At 20 years old, Tatum was a long way off making a name for himself in the movie business. He made his big screen debut in the 2005 film Coach Carter, and will soon be seen in next years' Gambit and Hail, Caesar!

You can watch the video for 'She Bangs' here.

Wentworth Miller

Wentworth Miller, the star of Prison Break (2005–2009), has starred in two Mariah Carey videos. The first, 'It’s Like That', was released at the beginning of 2005 and saw the actor dressed in a Zorro-like mask.

Wentworth Miller (2)

The second Mariah Carey song which featured Miller was 'We Belong Together', released in March 2005.

Since then, Miller has been a busy boy. His next project is the TV series Legends of Tomorrow (2016– ) which is a spin-off from both Arrow (2012– ) and The Flash (2014– ).

Elijah Wood

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) star Elijah Wood was only 8 when he starred in Paula Abdul's 'Forever Your Girl', which was released in 1989

Frodo Baggins never looked so cute.

You can watch the young Frodo in the video here

Jeremy Renner

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) actor, Jeremy Renner, played the bad-boy sheriff in Pink’s 'Trouble' in 2003.

Hopefully he won't be wearing his eye liner in the upcoming film Captain America: Civil War (2016).

You can watch Renner in all his mascara-wearing glory in the video here

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is set to voice Shira in Ice Age: Collision Course next year. The singer/actress has come a long way since appearing as a backup dancer in Janet Jackson’s 'That’s the Way Love Goes' in 1993.

You can watch J-Lo not being fooled by the rocks that she got in the video here.

Wesley Snipes

Wesley Snipes played one of the criminals in Michael Jackson's single 'Bad' in 1987.

It seems that sometimes life does imitate art, as the actor was jailed in 2008 for tax evasion.

You can watch Snipes in the video here.

Sarah Michelle Geller

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1996-2003) star Sarah Michelle Gellar took some time out of her stake-wielding duties to star in the video to 'Sour Girl' by Stone Temple Pilots in 2000.

Currently starring in Star Wars Rebels (2014– ), I doubt we'll get to see her busting a move on the dance floor anytime soon.

You can watch Buffy strut her stuff in the video here.

Matthew McConaughey

Before winning an Oscar for his performance as Ron Woodroof in Dallas Buyers Club (2013), actor Matthew McConaughey appeared in Trisha Yearwood’s 'Walkaway Joe' music video in 1992.

This role came before he made his big screen debut in 1993's Dazed and Confused.

You can watch the former 'Killer Joe Cooper' in the video here.

Zooey Deschanel

Who's that girl? Who's that girl? It's Zooey Deschanel starring in 'She's Got Issues' by The Offspring in 1999, obviously.

You can watch the red-headed New Girl in the video here.

Aaron Paul

Aaron Paul starred in the music video for the Korn song 'Thoughtless', which was released in 2002.

In the video, he plays a rebellious young man, although probably not as bad as Jesse Pinkman, the producer (and occasional user) of meth he played in the TV series Breaking Bad (2008–2013).

You can watch Aaron Paul in all his brooding glory in the video here.

Jack Black

Jack Black has starred in a couple of music videos. The first one was in 'Sexxlaws' by Beck, back in 1999.

You can see the video here.

Jack Black (2)

His second appearance in a music video was in the Foo Fighters song 'Learn to Fly', also in 1999.

You can watch the video here.

Matt LeBlanc and Johnny Depp

In 1991, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers released the song 'Into the Great Wide Open' which featured both Matt LeBlanc and Johnny Depp.

LeBlanc was 24 at the time and had only starred in a few TV series's including TV 101 (1988–1989) and Just the Ten of Us (1988–1990). Depp, on the other hand, was 28, and had starred in a few notable films including A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and Edward Scissorhands (1990).

You can watch the video here.

Bill Paxton

Not only did Bill Paxton star in the video for the classic 1979 novelty song 'Fish Heads' by Barnes & Barnes, he also directed it too.

What's more impressive is the fact that the star of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013– ) and Texas Rising (2015– ) was only 24 at the time.

You can watch the video here.

Angelina Jolie

Oscar winning actress Angelina Jolie (Girl, Interrupted (1999) appeared in a couple of music videos.

The actress appeared as a stripper in The Rolling Stones’ song 'Anybody Seen My Baby?' in 1997.

It would be an interesting twist if she reprises that role in her upcoming films Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016), Maleficent 2 (2016) or Salt 2 (2016)

You can watch the video here.

Angelina Jolie (2)

Her first role in a music video came in 1993, in which she starred in 'Rock n' Roll Dreams Come Through' by MeatLoaf.

You can watch the video here.

John Malkovich and Hugh Laurie

Between his Oscar-nominated performances in Places in the Heart (1984) and In the Line of Fire (1993), actor John Malkovich appeared in the 1992 video to 'Walking on Broken Glass' by Annie Lennox.

The star of RED (2010) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) was joined in the video by double Golden Globe winner Hugh Laurie (Veep (2012 -), Tomorrowland (2015).

You can watch the video here.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry (The Smurfs (2011) appeared in the music video for 'Cupid’s Chokehold' by Gym Class Heroes back in 2005 when she was dating lead singer Travie McCoy.

You can watch the California gurrrrrrrrrrrrrl in the video here.

Speaking of who, singer/actress Ke$ha, (Jane the Virgin (2014 -) and Jem and the Holograms (2015) was in the music video for 'I Kissed A Girl' by Katy Perry back in 2008.

You can watch the video here.

Jason Statham

Good ol' Jason Statham! Known for playing the tough guy in films such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), Mean Machine (2001), The Expendables (2010) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013), he didn't always rock that hard man image.

In fact, when Statham starred in the 1994 hit 'Run To The Sun' by Erasure, his appearance was anything but tough. Dressed in tiny shorts and spray-painted silver, we're all hoping that this doesn't resemble the actors' appearance in his upcoming films Furious 8 (2017), Mechanic: Resurrection (2016) and Viva La Madness (2016).

You can watch the dancing tough guy in the video here.

Jason Statham (2)

Good ol' Jason Statham! Known for playing the tough guy in films such as... hold on, this sounds familiar. What could be more embarrassing than the above clip I hear you ask? Well, probably this 1993 video for 'Comin' On' by The Shamen.

Getting your groove on in a pair of leopard print underpants (and little else) clearly did nothing for the Statham's career. At least this time he's not dressed as the tin man from The Wizard of Oz (1939) moonlighting as a go-go dancer.

You can watch the Tarzan wannabe in the video here.
