Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are everywhere right now, and it seems that everything they touch turns to gold -- whether it be the entertainment industry, a catwalk show or a high fashion campaign. And now, it seems that the dynamic duo have taken it upon themselves to give a young man a taste of their high-flying existence.
Until recently, John Economou was sleeping rough on the beach in LA, with nowhere to go. That was until best pals Kendall and Gigi decided to have a casual picnic near to where he was camping out, and by chance saw great potential in him.
Impressed by his Adonis-like features and fascinating life story, the two took it upon themselves to set him up with modeling agency Two Management, who immediately signed him up after seeing his gorgeous face.
And the 20-year-old Milwaukee native can now hardly believe his luck. He explained the moment that changed his life with his own words:
"They sat pretty close but not too close and they started having a picnic. Then I saw seagulls swarming around the girls because they brought the food out and I started walking over there to shoo them away. One of the girls said to me, ‘You’re cute’, so I turned around and we struck up conversation. I didn’t realise who I was speaking to at first and it finally clicked who it was.”
"Kendall was cool, she was super down to earth and chill. We were just having a normal conversation talking about life, acting, modeling, personal lives. It’s a crazy story. I’m super grateful. I was just in the right place at the right time."
Today, he has plans to make it big like his new supermodel buddies, but hasn't struck gold yet. Yet, he's totally chill about it, saying:
“I don’t have an apartment; I don’t have a house out here. I don’t know where I want to settle down yet."
In fact, John prefers to live on the beach, leading a "hippie" lifestyle, despite having a loving family back in Wisconsin -- he's reportedly also saved over $4000 for his big move to LA after dropping out of college and his parents still pay for his iPhone 6. So if you think he's an unfortunate homeless man, he'll be the first to correct you:
"I don’t like saying I’m homeless. I like saying I’m on an adventure. I’m a traveller.”
Let's watch this space and hope that John gets his big break soon!
