High school might have been a tough time, but it looks like it ain't a patch on Hollywood, at least according to actress Bella Thorne. Back in November, the 18-year-old made some comments to Seventeen about a mysterious "mean girl" she goes out of her way to avoid. But, after rumors flew about who exactly that girl might be, Thorne has spoken out about her again during a HuffPost Live interview!
Back in November the teen initially told Seventeen magazine:
I have a mean girl. She’s in the business, and she’s very, very mean. I stay away from her at all costs. I never say hello to her. Her siblings are not mean like she is. It’s just her. One of the reasons I don’t like her is because she’s been a billionaire since she was very little, and she’s never had to work for anything in her life.
Following these comments the Internet speculated that the girl could be someone such as Kendall or Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Mary-Kate, Ashley or Elizabeth Olsen or perhaps even Miley Cyrus, but Thorne has remained tightlipped on the girls identity.
And now, despite not letting us know who the girl is, it looks like Thorne wanted to clarify some of her comments. When speaking to the HuffPost Live, she said:
"You know, there's a little part that's missing in there. It's not, 'I hate her because she's a billionaire.' It's, 'I don't like her because she is a billionaire and makes sure everyone knows that she is,' which is like, you know, I didn't grow up with money or anything like that. And even if I did...I'm not very much like that."
Thorne went out of her way to reiterate that her dislike of the 'mean girl' wasn't in any way connected to her wealth, merely her flaunting of it:
"If somebody wasn't flaunting it in a mean way to make other people feel bad about themselves, then I would not mind it. It's when people do it in certain types of ways that make you not appreciate them as much."
And to be honest, I gotta agree with Bella on this one -- no one likes that friend splashing their cash in everyones faces, am I right?
