It appears that Batman himself is content with early versions of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Ben Affleck has told Matt Damon that he has seen early versions of the movie, and is "very pleased."
The lifelong friends clearly share a close bond. Their careers simultaneously blossomed after co-writing and co-producing the Oscar winning Good Will Hunting in 1997, which paved the way for them to enter the big-time.
"I Hear It's Good"
Perhaps it's not surprising Damon has spoken favorably about Affleck's new film, considering the relationship the two have. When talking to Variety, Damon said:
"I hear [it's] is good. I haven’t seen it yet but he’s [Affleck] seen a rough cut and I think he’s very pleased."
Considering often those involved can be the most critical, it's a positive sign Affleck has spoken about his admiration for the film to those close to him. Although admittedly this isn't always the best way to judge how good the film will turn out.
Damon in the DC Universe?
Early Internet speculation suggested Damon could play Robin in the franchise. However, Damon quashed rumors he could appear in the DC Universe alongside his buddy by claiming that there aren't "any comic book characters left." I'm sure we can work on that, Matt!
Dawn of Justice will feature Affleck as the Caped Crusader, starring opposite Henry Cavill as Superman. The most recent trailer set the tone for the pulsating Zack Snyder epic, including cameos from Wonder Woman AND Doomsday.
'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will be released on March 25th 2016.
