It feels like the end of an era. Six years ago Rocksteady Studios surprised the world, proving what once seemed impossible -- creating a superhero game as good as the comic -- could indeed be done. Now, as the developer prepares to release their last piece of Batman-related goodness in the form of Arkham Knight's final DLC, it's hard not to feel a little weepy-eyed.

The downloadable pack will arrive on December 22 and is called 'Season of Infamy'. Featuring the Nolan universe Batmobile skin as well as brand new missions, it's set to be a memorable send off for the Dark Knight. Check out Rocksteady's last Arkham Insider episode for previously unseen gameplay:

Season of Infamy's missions are called 'Beneath the Surface', 'In From the Cold', 'Wonderland', and 'Shadow War', each referencing an iconic Batman villain set to stand in your way: Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Ra’s al Ghul and Mad Hatter.

Is this really the end?

Though Rocksteady said Arkham Knight would be the last in the series, some believe they're not quite done with Gotham's savior yet. At least, an eagle-eyed NeoGAF user recently spotted a suggestive job posting on the developer's website.

Apparently they're looking for a new multiplayer team leader and senior multiplayer network programer. The job description goes on to state that the new applicants must have "worked on at least two successfully published multiplayer titles." Could we be in for an online Batman game? Only time will tell.

'Season of Infamy' drops on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on December, 22.
