I Write Therefore I Am...Obsessive and Compulsive

I...I'm not even sure I can answer my own question... While I love horror films of all kinds, I'm also a sucker for silly comedies, and this one is gold.

Mild-mannered radio executive Brad (Will Ferrell), struggles to become a good stepfather to his wife's (Linda Cardellini) two children, but complications arise when their father, Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) arrives, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids. -Wikipedia

I have to say that I think the world was growing tired of Will Ferrell. Can that happen? Apparently. Audiences were growing bored of his antics as they were all the same. But this role absolutely reinvigorates him. Honestly, it's like his portrayal in Stranger Than Fiction. You don't realize how much depth Ferrell has until you see him in action.

And Mark Wahlberg has certainly come far from The Happening (even though I thought that movie was brilliant). He feels like a kid again. Irresponsible yet cool. Maybe he can pick up his underwear modeling career again or plant a celebrity tree for Paul Rudd.

Or...not.
Or...not.

All in all, the film is an enjoyably hilarious, family comedy that brings out the best in its two stars. Children of divorced parents, said parents and even those whose parents are still happily married will enjoy this one. And I won't spoil a damn thing because it's worth it!
