John Boyega is the new star of the Star Wars franchise, having played the role of Finn alongside Daisy Ridley, who played Rey. Boyega couldn't be more excited about his role, as you can see below.
The London-born actor has brought new life to the Star Wars franchise through his role as one of the more unique characters: a morally confused Stormtrooper who joins the Resistance, led by former Rebel General, Leia (Carrie Fisher).
Boyega's excitement about his new role really translated to his on-screen performance, providing much needed emphatic realism. But it seems Boyega was even more excited behind the scenes: shortly after his role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was confirmed, the rising star took Hollywood legend, Harrision Ford, out for dinner.
The costars went to 805, a Nigerian restaurant on Old Kent Road in London, where I'm sure they enjoyed some good food while the Star Wars newbie listened to the sage advice of a veteran.
When interviewed by the Evening Standard newspaper, Boyega was asked why he took his co-star to this particular restaurant; Boyega replied:
"In order to break Harrison into the London culture… to have some Nigerian food - and he loved it."
John Boyega has been criticized by some for his role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens due to his ethnicity, but it's good to see the young actor hasn't taken the abuse too personally. In fact, he seems to be in incredibly high spirits.
Anyone who has seen The Force Awakens will know that Boyega played his role in the seventh Star Wars movie to perfection, serving as a strong character while also adding a strong sense of realism to the story.
Congratulations, Boyega! You've joined the legendary ranks of the Star Wars community and we can't wait to see you in Star Wars VIII!
