Abrams! You got some 'splainin to do!

You killed my reason for even going to Star Wars films.

Fine.

Kill him if you must.

But did you have to make the death scene so ...anti-climatic? Solo should have gone out in a blaze of glory (to do the character justice). You need a super villain...I get that. You could have let them have their touchy feely scene and have it interrupted by storm troopers or something else Han had to blast. Then while Han was distracted his beloved son could have stabbed Dad in the back, thus making him an even more evil douche bag. After all, that was the stated goal...yes?

The scene left me cold and a bit pissed. If you are gonna kill off a character as epic and central as Han Solo, the build up and scene need to be seriously epic. I am a huge fan of your work Abrams, I really am. But this just feels like you were handed the daunting task of killing off one of the most loved characters in cinema history...and ya choked. It was like sex when you aren't even properly warmed up and your partner is already done and snoring.

Any chance of a re-do with more depth? (In my dreams...I know.)

Rey needs more...oomph. The character is like weak tea at this point, but has potential for strengthening in the future--I hope. After all, she has some very strong females to follow.

On the plus side... you get props for taking it old school and not going crazy with the CGI. I am hearing positive comments about this from other fans as well. Also thank you for not going lens flare happy! I very much enjoyed the Poe and Finn characters. Well done there! More of a role for Poe in the future is most welcome. ~S.J.
