The Simpsons is almost as well known for its clairvoyant abilities as it is four fingered yellow hands, and after predicting the Fukushima nuclear disaster and Donald Trump's potential to ruin America, the show has only gone and shown us it knew what would happen with Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2009.

An eager eyed Redditor named getsomestarbs spotted a familiar movie theater line up in an episode entitled 'Homer the Whopper' and it's pretty uncanny that animators decided to link these two wildly different movies together.

Anyone with their eye on upcoming movie release dates will have noticed that Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip hit cinemas the same day as Star Wars: The Force Awakens in a move that was deemed as totally squeakicidle on the chipmunks' part.

Here's the trailer anyway, in case you were curious.

As you can see from the image above, The Simpsons predicted exactly that, although they went for some much better titles in my opinion! There is no denying the newest Star Wars is a huge apology to fans for all they had to suffer through, and who wouldn't rather see the chipmunks go rabid than have a boring car journey?

Sorry Alvin, I can vaguely remember having a bit of a crush on you, but we're just totally different people now...
