So I was thinking about this for awhile now, and one of the biggest goofs in Star Wars is the claim the Millennium Falcon could do the Kessel run in under twelve parsecs. Of course most people point out that a parsec is a unit of distance not time. However, there maybe an ironic twist to this statement.

Hyperspace, much like warp drive, allows for tunneling from Point A to point B. The distance traveled in hyperspace is relative to the distance being tunneled. Hyperspace is also limited by the energy that is creating the spatial tunnel. The Millenium Falcon may require twelve parsecs or less of hyperspace travel to tunnel the length of the Kessel run. The Kessel run is a hyperspace path used by smugglers. The faster a ship can go, the more energy is expended and the shorter the hyperspace tunnel is.
