Obviously this contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so if you've managed to go this long without seeing it you might want to keep moving. Come back when you have.

Since you've continued to scroll on I will assume you have seen The Force Awakens, so here we go!

Since the movie premiered last week there have been a lot of fan theories and questions surfacing online. I have touched on them previously and you can read all about them here, but one of the biggest mysteries remains to be centered around Rey. We are still unclear about exactly who she is, who her family is, or why she was left on Jakku.

Or do we?

Gameplay of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Disney Infinity video game have given us a bigger hint regarding the true identity of Rey. By hint I mean they have basically told us who she is. Within the gameplay, we see the mission towards the final battle on the Starkiller base leading up to the fight between Rey and Kylo Ren. We already know that Kylo Ren is the son of Leia and Han, but we were still unsure about who Rey's parents are. Well, around the 20:30 mark of the video below you hear a major clue regarding the true identity of Rey.

"Face me, cousin!"

So yeah, Disney basically just spoiled to us that Rey is Luke Skywalker's daughter. In a way it's not a surprise because a majority of people thought that was the case, but it still is a bummer to have this come out through a video game. Some might argue that since it's a video game that we shouldn't take this seriously, but seeing how Star Wars is officially licensed by Disney now as is the Disney Infinity game we can count this as canon.

We still have to wait for official confirmation from Disney, or for Episode VIII to confirm this, but I think it's pretty safe to say that our assumptions were correct.

Do you think Rey is a Skywalker?
