2015 has been a great year. We were delighted with multiple big action films that came straight from comic books. But what really made these movies were the villains. Everything from James Spader's Ultron to Adam Driver's Kylo Ren. Here are the biggest baddies of 2015.
James Spader delivered a very different verison of Ultron. Ultron is usually a stone-cold robot killer, but in AOU he makes jokes much like his father, Tony Stark. Although he's much different from his comic book counterpart, he managed to pit Avenger vs Avenger and destroying an entire European city by turning it into an asteroid.
I personally think Corey Stoll killed it as Yellowjacket despite the character being dramatically changed from the comics. Being Pym's first student, Cross knows how Pym thinks and that's what makes him a real challenge. Cross is obsessed with the Pym particles and he won't stop until he's got it. Blue laser beams, and the ability to shrink in size, Yellowjacket is a formidable opponent for Ant-Man.
Oscar award winning' Christoph Waltz has yet again proved that he can be a big bad. Waltz plays the mysterious "Franz Oberhauser" or should i say Ernst Stavro Blofeld. If you've ever wondered how all of Bond's love interests managed to die, you've got an answer. Everytime Bond interfered with Blofeld's work, Blofeld killed any woman he loved. He's got the wits and an entire secret agency to fight Bond & friends. Waltz truly is the author of pain.
As much as i despised the new Fantastic Four, I didn't find Toby Kebell's Doctor Doom wasn't the worst part of the movie. Sure, he had 5 minutes of screen time but I believe he should make it on this list. To briefly explain his powers, he can manipulate energy and make people's heads go POP! Say what you want about the new Dr. Doom but he sure as hell put up a fight against the FF.
The most mysterious villain in 2015 would be the new Star Wars baddie. Kylo Ren wears a mask for no medical reason, wields an unstable light-saber with cross guards, and was trained by the last living Jedi (Luke Skywalker). Driver's had only been an actor in the show Girls before playing the villain in the most well known franchise of all time. As of now, he is strong with the dark side, but not a powerful sith lord. We can assume this will change when he completes his training with Supreme Leader Snoke in episode VIII.
