'Bound in Flesh' actually felt like an Evil Dead standalone movie within a TV show. It was pretty superb from start to finish, with a great plot, free flowing story and lashings and lashings of gore. We got the conclusion of the two evil ash's fighting each other, the hitchhikers were back, Amanda the deadite slayed all in her path and we finally found out what Ruby's game was about. This was horror comedy television as its spellbinding finest.

WHO'S EVIL AND WHO'S GOOD ?

The episode starts with a bird's-eye view of Amanda's corpse and Pablo and Kelly are in shock. That's nothing when they enter the next room of the cabin and see Ash fighting Ash. Now loaded with guns they have a decision to make which Ash are they going to kill. Each one gives some great excuses, but a subtle mistake let's them in and they kill the right Ash! Even good Ash is surprised by this.

"MY ASSHOLE HAND, IT CAME BACK AND GREW ANOTHER ME"

With evil Ash dead, Pablo asked Ash just how an evil Ash could exist and Ash explained as above this header. Indeed 'Bound in Flesh' was loaded with lots of one liners and in-jokes and this was just one of them. Ash tells Pablo and Kelly that the two bodies in the cabin now must be chopped up to prevent deadite reanimation. Evil Ash and Amanda are going to feel the force of Ash's chainsaw, however just when the time comes there are unexpected visitors.

"HAPPY CAMPERS COMING ATCHA"

Pablo sees the three hikers approaching the cabin and him, Kelly and Ash make sure to greet them at the door and try to get them to stay out. Ash is having none of it and knows they will be toast if they are allowed to stay the night as they want to. Ash has a quiet conversation with Kelly and Pablo, if they stay the night they may be "killadelphia, chocklahoma or dieami"- It's agreed that Pablo and Kelly will get them back to the city via a secret trail at the back of the cabin. Which only raises the question of why Ash from Evil Dead 2 didn't think of this way back when...

AND HERE ARE THE HAPPY CAMPERS

Here they are and two of them would be dead by the end of the episode. From left to right - Heather, Engaged Hiker (still no confirmed name) and Brad. Do you think they ever went to a Punch and Judy show? Shhh no spoilers!

JUST THE TWO OF US

And why not? Not since Quentin Tarantino went with 'Stuck in the Middle With You', in which the song plays over a torture scene from 1991's Reservoir Dogs have we experienced a moment like this. Bill Withers's classic plays over the gory scene of Ash dismembering evil Ash in brutal style. And instead of showing you this gruesome image - (Go watch the episode) we went with the delightful portrait of Mr. Withers right bang in his prime. And listen up fans, if Withers can make it somehow into the Evil Dead universe then anyone can - yes we're looking at you, One Direction.

"HELLO PUSSIES"- AMANDA IS BACK WITH A BLOODY VENGEANCE

The great thing about dying on Ash vs The Evil Dead is that you're not really dead so to speak. You get the second chance of being a cool deadite in the after life and take out some happy campers. Amanda as a deadite is absolutely glorious. She kills Heather and Brad in gruesome fashion by ripping through their stomachs, but that's nothing - all that did was kill them. So she went a step further and rammed her fists through the back of their skulls and into their mouths and used them as puppets - holy crap! How good was that? Also deadite Amanda is the closest we've seen to a genuine deadite reminiscent of the old Evil Dead movies, and the most evil. Talk about bent up frustration! She almost gets engaged hitch hiker and seriously hurts her leg before turning on Pablo. However enter Ruby who almost kills the deadite before a lapse in concentration let's the deadite flee back in the woods. That means one thing - more Amanda kick ass deadite in the shows finale. Yes!

RUBY AND ASH FINALLY MEET

It's taken 9 episodes and roughly 430 minutes but Ash and Ruby have finally caught up with one another. After Ruby saves Pablo from certain death, Pablo and Kelly take Ruby to the cabin to meet up with Ash. They exchange some brilliant one liners towards each other and Ruby convinces Ash that she can end this all and burying the book of the dead will do nothing. Only she apparently has the key to end it all. But should Ash seriously trust her?

BETTER THE DEADITE YOU KNOW

Ruby, Ash, Pablo, Kelly and engaged hiker go back in the cabin to end it all. Ruby tells Ash he must literally rip off the face from the book of the dead. He does as she says and blood oozes from the screaming book. Ruby takes the book and starts reading from it, all is not what it seems, just who is Ruby and what does she want? The face of the book then throws itself at poor Pablo and he is face hugged by it. The gas mask from the last episode is now clearly a hint at Pablo's future. After having his face decorated in gallons of blood for most of the season he now has the book literally imprinted on his face. Ash tries to break Ruby's concentration. And then we learn the truth: Ruby reveals that she WROTE the book. WOW, who saw that coming? And the episode ends as we count the days and hours down to the season finale.
