The 6'3" legendary basketball star George "Meadowlark" Lemon of the Harlem Globetrotters has sadly passed away at the age of 83.

Meadowlark is known for famously pushing Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain out of the Center and into the Guard position.

This veteran has played around 16,000 games and is immortalized not only in the Basketball Hall of Fame, but also in the Harlem Globetrotters animated series. Check out the intro for the show in case you need a refresher:

This show was then adapted into a comic book by Gold Key Comics in 1972. Lemon's character was voiced by Scatman Crothers, and often found himself crossing over with the gang and Scooby-Doo.

Lemon is survived by his wife and their 10 children. RIP George Lemon, we send positive thoughts to his family.
