I'm still recovering from the mid-season finale of Supergirl, considering that we were left on such a big cliffhanger. And now, on-top of that, I have this new promo for episode 9 "Blood Bonds" to wrap my head around.
CBS' Official Press Release is new:
It certainly looks like Kara has a hell lot of things to deal with on her plate. From her boss, to her aunt, and the awful love triangle she's caught in. Not to mention that she'll be having to deal with her best friend's father, AND that her close friend James/Jimmy Olsen has been captured, by the man who hates her alter ego (Supergirl). I'm so not going to be able to get over this until the episode is released.
Kara must find a way to rescue Hank from Astra's husband as she tries to refute Cat's allegations that she's supergirl.
“Blood Bonds” – With Astra in captivity at the DEO, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat’s allegations that she is Supergirl.
The main bullet points to take away from this promo are:
-CAT GRANT IS SURE THAT KARA IS SUPERGIRL, and it doesn't look like she'll be changing her mind about it anytime soon. However, Kara is set to continue on denying these accusations her boss is putting on her.
- James Olsen is kidnapped?! Did we just see him being punched in the stomach with a wrench? And by Maxwell Lord, of all people. Andrew Kreisberg teases to us that Max Lord isn't a person we should completely be trusting. Yep, definitely National City's own 'Lex Luthor'.
"For us, the best villains are the ones who aren't mustache-twirling, 'I want to kill everybody,'Max really believes he's out to protect the human race. He says in an upcoming episode, 'When Gods walk the Earth, it's mortals that get the short end of the stick.' He doesn't see the difference between Supergirl and the rest of them, just in the same way that General Lane doesn't."
- The toy of 'Supergirl' in that wooden chest immediately teases Toyman's arrival in the next episode. Also known as Winn Schott's father. I wonder how Kara must've reacted to seeing that toy.
- Martian Manhunter, is apparently so, from Mars. Benoist told Collider earlier this month that the way her character reacted to this was in ' a funny way'.
"It's so funny the way she reacts, I can't wait for you guys to see it. I don't want to tell you because it's really funny. It's a good thing; she's really happy about it." - Melissa Benoist.
