Directed by: Alejandro Gonzáles Iñárritu

Grade: A-

The Revenant is about a fur trapper named Hugh Glass and his son. Hugh is attacked by a bear and is left for dead, he then goes for vengance on the people who left him for dead. Their is alot I am leaving out I don't want to spoil much.

The Revenant is a stunning film with releastic depiction of violence and visceral experience you wont find in most movies this year. Where the film faults on the other hand is in the amount of dialogue leo's character has; its simply not enough you don't hear is thoughts or anything of that matter so it is hard to relate to his character because your not given much to relate to. The bear scene is absolutely incredible. It takes along time for him to heal and be okay. And stuff later in the film happens that is a equally damaging and he is just like naw I am good.

Another quick flaw is one can only watch so much bad things happening to a person before you just go come on I get it the odds are stacked against him i understood that a while ago lets pick up the story and keep moving forward.

The performances in this film are great I feel like Leo as great as a job as he does if he had more speaking parts his performance would be better. Will poulter does a surprisingly good job, Gleeson freaking kills and Tom Hardy steals the scenes he's in.

The Revenant is great film with a incredible first and third act and a decent second act and is overall pretentious in the end game.
