2015 is finally coming to a close, leaving many movie goers excited for 2016, which is predicted to be the best year in film yet. I recall hearing the same thing last year about 2015, and man, did those promises pull through.

2015 has (at the current moment) given us the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 9th and 11th most successful films in history. And one of those (number 9) is Star Wars, which is predicted to end as the 2nd most successful film. Sure, some of the films which came out turned out to be...not so good, yet it was all worth it when we were delivered phenomenal and successful films like Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ex Machina, Jurassic World, Furious 7, Minions, Fifty Shades of Grey, Inside Out, Spectre, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Now we take a look at the best of the best of this year, in the categories of trailers, movie moments, characters, people and, just for fun, my personal favorite article made by yours truly here on Let's take a look, shall we?

Best Trailer: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Final Trailer

With every film we received, we also received about twice as many trailers. The most ground breaking trailer in my opinion that was released this year was the third and final trailer for The Force Awakens. Though all three Star Wars trailers were groundbreaking, this one somehow managed to break stuff beyond the ground.

The key part about this trailer's success was the fact that they released the online tickets for the movie almost immediately after, allowing it to double the previous record for fastest online ticket sales. In addition, I still get chills when I watch the trailer, even though I've already seen it countless times. There really is no better trailer for this award to go to.

Best Movie Moment: Church Fight Scene (Kingsman: The Secret Service)

This scene was just fantastic for me. Violent, but fantastic. It was incredibly well directed and is rather humorous at times. Seeing Colin Firth kill off dozens of people in a packed church to the tune of Free Bird was not something I ever expected to witness in my life, yet somehow I did.

The choreography in the scene was amazing, especially considering that a lot of it was filmed in just one shot. It was truly enjoyable and a must-see for anyone who has not yet watched the scene. Just be wary: there is a lot of blood, violence and swearing.

Best Character: BB-8 (Star Wars: The Force Awakens)

2015 gave us numerous new faces in the film universe, but there seemed to be none more lovable, enjoyable and marketable than BB-8, Poe's BB-unit droid from The Force Awakens. This little droid warmed our hearts in the latest Star Wars and, let's be honest, even made us cry sometimes when he was sad.

Basically a cross between R2-D2, Elmo and a soccer ball, there was really no way for us to hate this character. The best part of it all is that we can even bring this character home since the droid was actually real, not CGI. I myself own a Sphero BB-8 that I constantly let roam through my house because I am still in love with this cute little character.

Entertainment Person of the Year: Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool)

To judge this one, I looked at people who took their work outside of just the studio. No one managed to do this more than Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds who fully committed himself to the comedic superhero role. Whether he was tweeting, dressing up for Halloween, celebrating Christmas, or visiting Comic Con as a guest, Reynolds never gave up his act.

Reynolds was very entertaining this year and I am very excited to see him as the Merc with a Mouth on screen this February. But until then, let's enjoy this brief video of how he spent his Halloween.

My Favorite Article - The True Reason Why Batman Is Considered The Greatest Superhero of All Time

This is probably my favorite article of mine because it is short, sweet, to the point and actually carries a legitimate message. Discussing why Batman is considered the greatest superhero of all time, I explain that it is "because he's Batman." At first this may seem like a joke, but really, that is why he is the greatest superhero: he has a good reputation and it is almost impossible for people to truly dislike him. That really is the gist of it.

Bonus: What I'm Most Excited for in 2016!

Honestly, I have no real clue on this one. I'm excited for Deadpool, Batman v. Superman, Jungle Book, Rogue One, Doctor Strange and countless other things. Yet, when I really get down and think about it, I believe I am most excited for Captain America: Civil War for one deciding reason: Spider-Man.

I am very excited to finally see Spider-Man in the hands of Marvel this May and hope that this is the Spider-Man we have all been waiting for. Plus, Black Panther seems pretty cool too.
