"Spotlight" follows the story of a team of investigative journalists at the Boston Globe who must uncover the secrets behind the Catholic Church's molestation scandal and cover-up. It's a devastating yet inspiring tale that shines a light on how important journalism is to our society. "Spotlight" is a masterpiece. There is not one faulty line, bad performance, or off shot. Every element of the movie is as great as it can be.

Director and writer Tom McCarthy does absolutely phenomenal work here. He crafts every character with immense care and organically develops each of them with intelligence and spark. The ensemble cast, including Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, John Slattery, Brian D'arcy James, and Stanley Tucci, is one of the best I've ever seen. Each actor is outstanding and deserves an array of acclaim and recognition.

I absolutely loved "Spotlight" and cannot wait to catch it again. A true masterpiece of the year, and my vote for best picture.
