Star Wars: The Force Awakens really did make the Box Office feel the force; the New Years Day weekend numbers are in and they're seriously impressive.

With a total gross of $686 million in only fifteen days, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has more bucks than Anakin Skywalker has midichlorians. This means that Star Wars VII has done the impossible and sunk the Titanic, which made $658 million in total.

Titanic had been the king of the world but The Force Awakens catapulted Rey to leading lady of the galaxy far, far away: I think she can handle herself...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in China on January 9, which should provide another vital stepping stone to its worldwide fortune and hopefully create a more positive view of Star Wars publicity in Asia than the racism row over the poster for the Chinese market.

Jack Dawson might be gratified to know that Star Wars VII is gonna make lots of babies, and watch them grow; another bunch sequels are planned, with Rogue One (2016), Star Wars Episode VII (2017), Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo (2018), Star Wars Episode IX (2019) and Star Wars Anthology: Boba Fett (2020) all confirmed.

With Box Office crushing numbers like this, Star Wars VII is flying...

The Force has well and truly awakened...
