One of the many gifts bestowed upon us in 2015 was Daredevil, which came to Netflix and surprised us all by being awesome. The hard-hitting show wasn't perfect, but it didn't need to be: it was gritty and dark with a touch of bleak optimism amidst street-level vigilante justice. None of us knew what to expect with Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, you could even say we were going in blind... not that we would ever say such a thing.
Well it's now 2016, which means more Daredevil will be hitting our screens in March -- a full month earlier than was initially suggested. As revealed by Entertainment Weekly in their 2016 preview issue, post-production is just wrapping up, giving the creators 3 months to iron-out any kinks.
Further speculation suggests that we can expect Daredevil season two to launch on March 25, so we don't have long to wait!
So, with Season 2 set to air in just a few months, what can we expect from the series, other than the return of the blind lawyer-by-day, vigilante-by-night, Matt Murdock? Well, to start with we can expect Elektra, played by Elodie Yung. If the comic books are any indication Elektra will be a badass assassin and love interest of Murdock; no complaints here!
I'm sure you're also eagerly awaiting the appearance of The Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal. Punisher and Daredevil crossed many times in the comic books, both seeking to eliminate crime, but with opposing moral compasses. Where The Punisher sought to best his foes by any means necessary, Daredevil was more moralistic and approachable.
The Matt Murdock we know crossed the line many times in Season 1, so can we expect his behavior to change in the manner of Oliver Queen in Arrow? By which I mean, dark in Season 1, but steadily getting more chilled-out throughout the seasons.
Daredevil reportedly hits screens in just over 3 months, are you excited for the return of the hit Netflix series?
Do you think 'Daredevil' season 2 will top season 1? (Let me know in the comments!)
