(Warning - the following contains major potential SPOILERS for future episodes of The Flash. Proceed with whatever level of caution that suggests is wise...)
Now, if there's one fundamental truth lying beneath the surface of all comic-books, it's that nobody ever really stays dead (except, of course, for Spider-Man's Uncle Ben, and even then only kind of). In superhero-themed television shows and movies, however, death can be a whole lot more permanent - after all, if the actor who played a role has no interest in returning (or, worse still, has died) then the only way to bring the character back is to recast, something that many shows are unwilling to do.
That, though, doesn't mean that there aren't ways around the problem - with guest starring spots a popular practical option, and alternate universe's a common in-plot explanation. Indeed, the doubling up of the two is, it seems, the reason why...
We Might Well Be Set to See Firestorm Return to 'The Flash'...on Earth-2
Yup, that's right. Robbie Amell's Ronnie 'Firestorm' Raymond may well have seemed to sacrifice his life to seal that pesky singularity above Central City, but it seems that isn't going to stop him from returning to The Flash...in Earth-2 form.
Or, at least, That's what this here leaked set photo seems to suggest...
The big question that raises, though?
Which Ronnie Raymond are We Set to See?
Specifically, is Amell set to be playing a shiny new Earth-2 version of the character - or will he turn out to be the original Ronnie we know and love, thrust onto Earth-2 by that self-same singularity? Could it even be an elaborate double bluff, and not be Raymond at all - but instead some kind of shape-shifter imitating him?
It seems we're just going to have to wait until later this season to find out, but in the meantime, there's one notable consolation: Robbie Amell's on his way back, and maybe this time he won't be leaving so soon...
