Whether you're still intoxicated from The Force Awakens or you've just about had enough of the endless talk of Rey and Luke Skywalker and monster box office, this news should cheer you up: it's 345 days until Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters*, and the spin-off's lead character finally has a name.
(*not that I'm counting or anything...)
Say hello to Lyra Erso
Various sources are reporting that the name of The Theory of Everything star Felicity Jones's character is to be Lyra Erso.
A casting call was put out for a body double for Lyra's character, and although the actress (Gabrielle Fritz) cast as the double is four inches taller than Flick, there's no other lead female among the cast, so make of that what you will.
Here's what we know so far about Rogue One:
Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire, a wayward band of Rebel fighters comes together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor's rule.
Gareth Edwards is directing. He did 2014's Godzilla, but try not to hold that against him. The timeline of the film's events make it essentially a prequel to A New Hope, but don't hold your breath for any character crossovers.
Nightcrawler star Riz Ahmed plays Bodhi Rook, whilst Mads Mikkelsen isn't a villain for once - his character is thought to be called Galen.
And that's pretty much all we know. Rogue One drops December 16, 2016.
