Kung Fu Panda 3 is gearing up for its release next year later this month, and there are plenty of new clips to feed our excitement! The action packed animated films have been praised for their fun loving style, as well the poignant storylines that bring a tear to many a parent's eye. It looks like Po will have a lot of trouble on his hands with J.K. Simmons' new villain Kai, but at least we know he'll have the perfect backup as he discovers his long lost family!

That's right! In Kung Fu Panda 3 we discover Po's absentee father, as well as the rest of the Panda population.

New Friends, New Challenges

This will no doubt make for a very emotional storyline, as Po finally discovers that there are more creatures like him. Here's the full synopsis for the film...

"When Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible—learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!"

But it looks like Po might have a bit of a challenge ahead of him: this new clip seems to show that unbelievably, Po is actually more responsible than his father! Check it out...

At least Po will have his friends to help him train this panda village: Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Angelina Jolie, David Cross, and Seth Rogen all return for Kung Fu Panda 3 as the Furious Five. And naturally, Dustin Hoffman's Master Shifu will also feature heavily in the film.

Po's Got A Crush

We've also got Kate Hudson as a new badass panda Mei Mei, who Po is ready to train. This will certainly be an interesting challenge for Po: the clumsy panda has been in training for two films now, and the student becoming the master will make for an intriguing plot.

Dreamworks released another clip recently which highlights Mei Mei... and it looks like Po might be nursing a little crush!

The Kung Fu Panda films have been widely critically acclaimed, featuring action sequences to rival Hollywood's biggest blockbusters, and gorgeous settings that really transport the viewer. The plot and scenery for Kung Fu Panda 3 seem like they're going to continue the trend both in this film, and far into the future!

DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg stated in an interview with Empire that we could see 3 more films after the latest one is released, bringing the total up to 6 Kung Fu Panda movies! Now that there are plenty more pandas to train, there's no telling where the story could go next.
