It's been a while since we've seen Marvel's X-Men in animated form, but one fan is putting an end to that with this incredible web series, X-Men: Danger Room Protocols.

Watch the introduction below:

The web-series will include 18 episodes, and will focus on two X-Men per episode. During each action packed episodes, Professor X will put the characters through their paces, pitting them against some famous villains.

"Blood, Sweat and Tears"

Creator Joel Furtado has been working on the series for over a year, and placed his "blood, sweat and tears" into the final product.

It certainly shows; the retro style, akin to many '90s arcade games, fits like a glove with Marvel's cluster of superheroes.

Animated X-Men

It also stirs up nostalgic memories for Marvel fans who used to watch the X-Men TV series which ran between 1992 and 1997. See a clip below:

The series will be released fully on January 19th, and you can see if on Joel's YouTube channel.
