When Marvels Juggernaut "Iron Man" blew out the block in 2008, Comic fandom was about to get a big boost. Marvel Movies began cranking out hit after hit, while DC was making the best Superman movie ever made, "Man of Steel".
I have always loved Comic books, there is an escape involved there. I remember feeling as if I had been transported to another world, another galaxy, or even another dimension.
The competition between the two rival masters of comic books spans seventy-eighty + years, and I see something wonderful happening.
DC is Back.
The past season of "The Flash" was some of the best comic book TV I have ever seen with Jay Garrick (Flash of two Worlds) and Professor Zoom, Captain Cold, Firestorm, Gorilla Grod, and all the Central Citizens who were effected by the particle accelerator explosion. There are quite a few ( I can't wait for Killer Frost).
The Marvel Tv shows have many of the films endearing characters like Agent Phil Coulson, and Agent Carter, but they seemed to have dropped the ball with delivering masked outrageous monsters and caped wonders being defeated weekly, with a more soap-opera, than comic book approach.
Supergirl however, Rocks, I love this show because it has a little of both. The first season has spot on acting, by Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, and David Harewood, with top notch CGI action, and a villain to defeat every week, not to mention a Justice League member like J'onn J'onzz (Martian Manhunter) being revealed in the cast only seven episodes in.
If this is any indication of the new DC movie lineup, the tides may be changing, Bravo DC.
