Everybody is really excited about the suicide squad movie. We know that Harley Quinn will be there. Harley Quinn's skin and hair is kind of like the Joker. Well, there's a reason behind it. Although, in suicide squad the get up of Harley Quinn is a little bit different than the original comic book Harley.

Following DC's 2011 relaunch of its titles, Harley Quinn's costume and appearance is fully revamped. Harley Quinn has a more revealing costume, altered hair color, and bleached skin. Her hair is half-red and half-black, like the jester cap of her previous incarnation, rather than fully blonde. Consistent with her new origin, her bleached skin is the result of being kicked into a vat of acid by the Joker.

Joker’s sinister sidekick made her debut in the Batman animated series and her popularity allowed her to crossover into the comics. Before she became the woman known as Harley Quinn, she was Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, where she treated Joker. In the Suicide Squad comics, Joker tossed her into a vat of, you guessed it, Ace Chemicals, subjecting her to a similar transformation. That's the main reason why Harley Quinn looks kind of like The Joker.

While the Suicide Squad trailer gave us a first look at Jared Leto’s Joker in action, it also teased that the person he is threatening to hurt "really, really bad" is Harleen Quinzel. We see her earlier in the footage being attacked by Joker’s henchmen before being strapped to a slab. You can get a more detailed breakdown of these moments here, but it wouldn’t surprise us if Ace Chemicals also plays a part in bringing out her inner psycho.

That's all. If you like this post, keep in touch for other ones
