In 2014, Kevin Smith decided to return to the film-making industry, thanks to an advert from UK site Gumtree. The result was Tusk, a weird and unique horror-comedy about a man being turned into a Walrus. It premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and received mixed reviews. It is also the first part in a trilogy titled The True North Trilogy, with Yoga Hosers being the second part. After its announcement in 2014, not much information has been released until now, where it's been confirmed that the film will premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Yoga Hosers stars Tusk's cast (Justin Long, Michael Parks, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez and Johnny Depp), and is a spin-off of the film. This time, the focus is on the two female clerks who appear in one of the first scenes of the film:

Colleen Collette and Colleen McKenzie are teenage besties from Winnipeg who love yoga and live on their smartphones. But when these sophomores get invited to a senior party by the school hottie, the Colleens accidentally uncover an ancient evil buried beneath their Canadian convenience store.

According to Kevin Smith, the film is aiming for a PG-13 rating, which makes a change to his previous film (which had an R rating) and most of Smith's filmography. It will also restrict the amount of violence and language that can be shown, but if it keeps the same tone (and weirdness) of Tusk then this could be really good.

As well as the plot being revealed, the official Sundance poster has also been released which you can see below:

With its bright colors, it seems to have a '70s/'80s feel to it. Like the posters for Tusk, it's also striking and will grab your attention. With these announcements, hopefully this means we'll soon get a trailer.
