ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS PERTAINING TO SEASONS 1 AND 2 OF FOX'S GOTHAM.

Will Jerome have the last laugh or is the world just poking fun at us? Ever since Jerome laughed during his interrogation with Jim Gordon (at the fact his mother had been murdered by his own hand no less) the fans of Gotham had either believed, hoped or cringed at the fact that Jerome might in fact be the legendary Joker. Whatever you had hoped for there is no denying that you watched every scene having to do with Jerome, looking for any clue that he was or wasn't The Clown Prince of Crime.

The writers for Gotham probably knew that such a question would intrigue the massive fan base that Batman has, which is probably why they introduced the character, had him unleash his best impersonation of the iconic Joker laugh and then just like that not have him return until the next season.

Some argue that the writers didn't know how the fan base would react and needed said waiting period to truly see what people wanted out of Jerome. No matter the reason the wait period only enticed the viewers more and more. Forums, blogs, podcasts and more took there own stab at answering the lingering question. Offering Up theories both in favor and not in favor for Jerome being the Joker. In the end no matter how much evidence was provided no one could be sure.

In season two of Gotham (deemed Rise Of the Villains) we saw Jerome be broken out of Arkham Asylum by Theo Galavan. The reason being Theo was assembling a team of Arkham inmates deemed "The Maniax". For three episodes Jerome would lead the Maniax on a crime spree the likes of which Gotham had never seen including a massacre inside the GCPD building Jim Gordon works at killing the then police commissioner Sarah Essen. With just two episodes it was almost certain that Jerome was playing a young Joker. Until episode three of season two when the series took an unexpected twist. In the end when the mad group "The Maniax" was down to just Jerome and Barbara (Jim Gordons now psycho ex lover) the mastermind behind the group kills Jerome on live television to make Gotham believe that he was a hero (I would explain how that works but hopefully you've seen season two of the greatness that is Gotham).

So where does that leave us? With Jerome left smiling from ear to ear in a morgue. His evil shown to influence the world in the most negative way possible with a whole bunch of different people. So in the end does it mean that Jerome is not the Joker? Or is this Gotham's origin story for the there version of the Joker. We all know they have no problem changing anyone's origin story. Well just when you thought it was all said and done, left on the morgue table. A picture has surfaced and taken the internet by storming asking, Is this a real Jerome picture from Gotham or a cruel prank from some internet trolls.

Is this Jerome from an upcoming episode of Gotham?

So here we have what seems to be Jerome way past his expiration date. His rib cage almost exposed through the thin skin he has left, veins fully exposed and his face ugly as ever. I believe what pops out most in this picture is Jerome's teeth. Razor sharp, that just doesn't happen by itself even if he is the newest member of the Walking Dead. This leads me to believe that if this is in fact the Jerome we know, someone or something has turned him into this zombie like figure. The questions that arise are, If this is Jerome does he have his memory? If so is he after Jim Gordon or Theo Galavan? Who brought this figure of terror back from the dead and why? Finally if he isn't the Joker (which seems more likely with this picture) then who is he?
