Hey guys welcome back to another review; this time I'll be reviewing "The Hateful Eight". I know it's kinda late since this film came out like three weeks ago but oh well, hope you enjoy.
Brief Spoiler Free Summary
What happens when two bounty hunters, a captured criminal, a sheriff, a hangman, a Confederate General, a coach driver, a Mexican bar owner and a man going home for the holidays get trapped in a bar during a blizzard? All hell breaks loose.
Samuel L. Jackson ("Pulp Fiction", "Snakes on a Plane", "The Avengers") plays Major Marquis Warren and is easily my favorite character. Honestly that's not surprising since basically every role he plays is amazing (excluding Mace Windu). Marquis Warren is a very interesting and badass character that I think everyone would agree is amazing.
Kurt Russell ("Tombstone", "Tango & Cash", "Vanilla Sky" plays John Ruth who is a complete asshole, and that's why I love him. He's one of those complete dickheads in movies that are just so funny and interesting that you can't help but love them.
Jennifer Jason Leigh ("Short Cuts", "The Hitcher", "Easy Money") plays Daisy Domergue who is the most unlikable human being in this movie and Jennifer nails the role. Daisy is such a gross and unlikable person that at times you seem to forget that she's human and not some wild animal.
Walton Goggins ("Django Unchained", "Predators", "Straw Dogs") plays Sheriff Chris Mannix. He's a very smart, cocky character that's really likable. He's probably my third favorite character of the movie.
So I'm skipping the "The Effects/Scares/Animation/whatnot" this time because there really isn't any major effects in the film. So I'll just skip straight to the cons which....to be honest there really isn't many, if at all. My only kinda criticism is that sometimes there are shots that go on for just a little longer then they should. Like a scene where Marquis walks up to the coach in the snow, it goes on for like ten seconds. I honestly don't really mind this but sometimes it can get a little annoying.
The Hateful Eight is an amazing film filled to the brim in tension, comedy, drama, and thrills. I guarantee this will be looked back on as a classic. Everyone should watch this film, I guarantee you'll love it. It's no Pulp Fiction but it's defiantly up there.
Thanks for reading, I'll soon be uploading my top ten favorite films of 2015 followed by a review of "The Forest". Until next time.
