ABC president Paul Lee just confirmed yesterday that the previously rumored Agents of SHIELD spinoff starring Adrianne Palicki as Barbara "Bobbi" Morse, aka Mockingbord and Nick Blood as her former husband/current boyfriend Lance Hunter has officially been given a pilot order. The name of the show will be Marvel's Most Wanted. “We are making it in the next few months," Lee stated at a Television Critics Association panel yesterday, adding, "It's a really good script." The show runners and executive producers will be AoS producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewsk. They co-created the show and co-wrote the pilot script. The show will also be executive produced by Jeph Loeb, Marvel's head of television. The show was originally being developed last season but was not made official until being greenlit in August. No other details about the show have been announced yet.
Now that's what we have for the facts. How about some speculation? Based on the name of the show and the fact that the characters are both SHIELD agents and partners, it will most likely feature Hunter and Bobbi being sent on special missions by Director Coulson to apprehend dangerous fugitives from SHIELD. This could open the door to introducing all kinds of Marvel villains we haven't seen yet. Since this will presumably be set at the same time as AoS, it would be reasonable to expect regular crossovers, leading to potentially bigger story lines. Could this be the way we finally see the Taskmaster introduced, whose rights were just reacquired by Marvel (as detailed in this Moviepilot article).
So what do you think? Are you excited for another new Marvel show or would you rather they stayed on Agents of SHIELD? Let me know in the poll below. And be sure to follow me to check out my other articles.
