The world lost a hero this morning as legendary singer David Bowie passed away aged 69 following an 18 month battle with cancer, three days after releasing his 25th album 'Blackstar.'

The influential glam-rock star, who often went by his flamboyant alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust, leaves behind an immense legacy thanks to his 40-year career as a singer-songwriter, producer, and actor.
Known and admired for drawing inspiration from subcultures and introducing them to the mainstream, his top hits include 'Let's Dance,' 'Space Oddity,' 'Starman,' 'Modern Love,' 'Heroes,' 'Under Pressure,' 'Rebel, Rebel,' and 'Life on Mars.'
He starred in Marlene Dietrich's Just a Gigolo, portrayed a World War II prisoner of war in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, played Pontius Pilate in Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ, and, of course, starred as Jareth the Goblin King in cult classic, Labyrinth.
