Kristen Stewart has done her fair share of sexual and erotic scenes on camera. From the drippily romantic consummation of Bella and Edward's love to the sweaty, topless times On the Road, Kristen has dealt with the pressures of simulating sex on camera for years.

However, this doesn't mean that she's used to it! Kristen recently told Vanity Fair how intimidating it was to get her clothes off in front of acting legend Juliette Binoche in Clouds of Sils Maria:

"I knew walking into it that I was going to do whatever she did. Once she started taking her clothes off and I started taking my clothes off I was just like, 'Oh my God, I can't fucking get naked around her.' I felt self-conscious as Valentine."

It wasn't only the stripping scenes in the movie that created an erotic atmosphere in the movie. Clouds of Sils Maria is a great study of a complex relationship between two women of different generations, there's palpable sexual tension in the scenes between Valentine (Kristen Stewart) and Maria (Juliette Binoche).

Kristen described the ambiguous homoerotic interplay between herself and Binoche very eloquently:

"It's just like this weird fucking emotional thing that they can't put their finger on. They are not friends. They're not coworkers. They're not girlfriends. They're not mother and daughter or vice versa. They're just fucking all of it and it's so weird. That's why I wanted to play the part. I am her co-conspirator in every way."

The movie was expertly marketed on this inscrutable yet arousing dynamic, particularly in the steamy photoshoot that Kristen Stewart and Juliette Binoche posed for in Interview magazine — sadly, not nude this time.

Kristen adds that Juliette Binoche's European flair helped her through the Sils Maria stripping scene in a more confident way:

"When she started taking her clothes off, as Valentine, it was a challenge which I could not face. I fully represented this American sort of modest self-consciousness and she, like, 100% started exuding her freedom. I completely assumed my own identity and went, 'Nope. Fuck it. I'm sticking with undies.'"

Still, despite "literally wearing two pairs of underwear" during a nude scene, Kristen Stewart still managed to make history by winning a prestigious Cesar award for Clouds of Sils Maria... Good going, Kristen!
