Mortal Kombat X fans have just days to wait until a mysterious gameplay video is released, according to series creator Ed Boon. Big things are happening over at NertherRealm!

Speaking out on Twitter, Ed Boon revealed that they will soon be releasing a Kombat Pack 2 gameplay video. He did not, however, go into any further detail upon what it may contain.

Mortal Kombat X fans received the news of the new fighters in December of last year. NetherRealm hyped up the reveal stating that the next four kombatants to hit the deadly roster would be some of the most formidable fighters yet.

Mortal Kombat X's new Kombat Pack will be comprised of the Xenomorph from the Alien series; Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Bo Rai Cho, a drunken fist fighter and new kombat fighter Tri-Borg, a sort of amalgamation of Cyrax, Robot Smoke and Sektor.

The previous DLC installments included some of the movies' most infamous villains, whilst Mortal Kombat X has some of the franchise's most ferocious fighters. This meant that these infamous movie legends were to take their place next to some seriously tough cookies - this was not going to be a pushover, and certainly not the type of fight they were used to.

Characters to have already joined the roster include Predator, Jason Voorhees, Tanya, and Tremor. Michael Myers and Terminator were both considered for the second Kombat Pack but just missed the cut.

Mortal Kombat fans are now speculating upon what this upcoming video will showcase. It is highly likely that this video will centre around the new kombatants and some of their most deadly moves. I am sure we will get enough gameplay to allow fans to identify what particular fighting style each new member will bring to the game.

NetherRealm are making a hell of a statement with Mortal Kombat X, I have to say. They are bringing all of the greatest aspects from the previous Mortal Kombat games and crashing them together with some of the world's most fearsome murderers from movie history. The result? One of the world's most brutal fighting games ever conceived. I guess this is why I just can't get enough of this game!

Stay tuned, as we will be publishing that mysterious gameplay video as soon as it is released! Buckle up - this sh** is about to get heavy!
