Everyone is wondering, what will be that moment when everyone's jaws drop wide open in shock? Most already believe Rey is the daughter of Luke. We found that Kylo is really Ben Solo, (still no shocker). And Kylo kills Han, which we all knew Harrison Ford wanted out a long time ago, so we still haven't had that moment yet. So what will "it" be?
If I were writing for the Star Wars franchise, (which I'm not...), I may be inclined to share with the fans a little part of the darkside. This is not what I believe "will happen", but is a theory that makes sense to myself. (Had I been a Sith Lord.) So, let's get to it!
There is so much power within Kylo Ren, and we don't fully understand just how much control, or power he truly has. He received some Jedi training, but left that behind to follow in his grandfather's darker path. But my focus is on what we have seen so far. Kylo, in the blink of an eye, turned to stop Poe's blaster burst in mid air, and paralyzed Poe in his tracks. Not only have we not seen this level of the darkside power, but the control is something to be feared. Vader didn't have this much power. If you reflect when Han Solo had fired at Vader, Han was facing Vader to begin with. Vader only deflected the bursts, then force removed the blaster from him, (before things got out of Han). My point being, you can count the force skills as they are happening with Vader. Kylo has stopped the burst in mid air, froze Poe in his boots while he holds the burst, and goes about his business as if it's "just another day at the office!"
Now here's where Things get nasty... If Kylo can control multiple force powers, while conducting the raid, who's to say he isn't using other means of the force WE don't know about yet? We've seen him dabble with people's minds already. But one mind in particular I'm interested in... FN-2187. In the time Kylo is holding that very blaster burst he takes notice of Finn struggling with his morals. I am questioning what actually is taking place at this moment. Is Kylo just standing there and saying,"Oh, look at the noob?" Or, is there a more sinister back story going on we are not aware of yet? Let me spell it out for the one's who cannot see past the light. What if Kylo Ren looked inside Finn's head at that moment? Kylo would have seen Finn's fear of the New Order, his compassion for the victims, and wanting to defect. He then could, in that moment, hijack his mind and control him to help Poe escape. Finn would be a force "double agent", without him even knowing it. This would allow them to "track" where the rebels were hiding. Kylo could be playing puppet master as we speak.
We see Finn struggling with, what we believe to be, what he just witnessed. Maybe it's more than that. Kylo may be struggling with him over control of his mind. The struggle may have started with the ending of Kylo walking away from Finn, then letting go of the blaster burst. Finn was startled by that sound. An easy way to get Finn to lose focus for an easy entry into his mind. "But we also see Kylo struggling later with the light side." We also know that Kylo hasn't finished his training. If he is struggling with control over Finn's mind, (now at great distances through space), just maybe Finn's emotions are "leaking" into the mind of Kylo. Without completing his training he may be dabbing into powers he doesn't fully understand yet. This may cause confusion when trying to do multiple tasks, as he does normally with powers he does know. Much like his grandfather, and uncle wanted everything today, not tomorrow! So he's trying powers on his own.
Well then... That's a pretty hefty theory! "But why would Kylo allow Finn to kill storm troopers?" Storm troopers are expendable. Vader proved that. But I have another theory. Either Kylo was losing his grip, or Finn killing troopers helps his guise as an agent, take your pick. Not only does he have to "fool" our new rebel heroes, but he has to get us, the audience, to buy into him playing for the good side. That's the beauty of the "twist", it kicks you in the gut when your not looking!
So then, "Why would Kylo fight Finn when Rey was knocked unconscious?" He may have considered that Rey was the better trophy. he quickly dispatched Finn, even though he was pounding at his wound to build up rage to increase his power. He may have lost control because of the wound, and may have tried re-entering Finn's mind but failed. None the less, after his mind battle with Rey, I believe his mind was set to take control of her. Villains don't settle for pawns, and that's all Finn is to Kylo. Rey has the power to fight back.
When he entered Rey's mind he may have tripped up multitasking again. Instead of putting his focus into Rey's mind, he tried juggling Rey, and Finn. I think this may be the reason Rey was able to understand how Kylo was using the force. I think the "awakening" is Rey understanding/seeing how Kylo manipulated the Midi-chlorians entering her mind. With, or without the control of Finn. She knew of the legends of Jedi, but needed something to kick start her awareness. This was the key to unlock her potential. Since she had been a salvager/survivor her whole life, she had adapted quickly. Since her Midi-chlorians are from Jedi royalty, and are high, she was able to "tap" into them once she understood what Kylo was doing. But, if he did have Finn under his control, then Rey would have seen how the mind control would have worked as it would have already been in effect in Kylo's mind.
Kylo will find that Finn survives his attack. Was it by design? Time will tell. But if Finn is under Kylo's control, this could be "that moment" we are looking for. Finn would ultimately kill someone big. My guess would be Rey's father Luke. Or Kylo would have the complete set by having Finn reveal his true nature by killing Kylo's mother Leia. But it has to happen in front of Rey, which creates the full effect of Finn being a TR-8R. Kylo would release Finn to let Finn realize what he had done. This would be devastating to both characters. Rey would come to realize that Kylo had been controlling Finn. It would be a battle of her mind against Kylo's for control of Finn's mind. With her help he could finally break free from Kylo. Or, with Kylo about to kill Rey, Finn breaks free himself and throws Kylo over a rail into a bottomless chasm never to be seen again... (Please no.) Finn would ultimately help Rey kill Kylo to redeem himself though.
Well there you have it! My version of the shocker twist... Would this be an epic shocker in your mind? Let me know what you think... And let us know what you may think will be this series big jaw dropper! Thanks for reading.
