Now that Star Wars: Battlefront is well into its lifecycle, fans are already looking for new content. Even though I've enjoyed my dozens of hours with DICE's latest multiplayer shooter, I have to acknowledge that the game is lacking in substantial content. I'm not necessarily referencing the lack of an offline campaign, but even the multiplayer modes, weapons and upgrades feel limited. And I'm sure this is exacerbated for those that aren't proficient when it comes to online FPS'. I feel sorry for the Star Wars fans in this position.

All we can hope for is that the 4 DLC packs which DICE and EA have promised can breathe some life into Star Wars: Battlefront. We know that new maps, planets, weapons, and characters are on the way, but is this enough? Will we be able to get some of Battlefront II's most beloved content in the DLC packs for EA's [Star Wars: Battlefront](tag:2684021)? Or will this all be locked away for future Battlefront installments?

Survey - What To Expect From Star Wars: Battlefront DLC

A while back, EA sent out a survey to members of the Star Wars: Battlefront online community. Inside, players were asked about their experiences with the game, how they think it could be improved, and what they'd like to see in DLC packs as well as future Star Wars: Battlefront games. There were mentions of certain features that we all wanted in this multiplayer game, however, one of the main features of Star Wars: Battlefront II, while referenced, doesn't appear to be something that we'll get in DLC packs.

Ground to Space Vehicle Combat Will Have To Wait For Star Wars: Battlefront 2

"Please review the following list of combat types that can be focused on in future Star Wars: Battlefront games."

While space combat and ground to space vehicle combat is certainly referenced here, the impression we get is that these forms of combat will we be saved for Star Wars: Battlefront 2. But we expected as much. The reason why Star Wars: Battlefront doesn't have all of the content that Battlefront II had is clear: EA and DICE want to make a series out of it. They want to slowly include new features, new Star Wars eras, and new combat modes. If they through all of their eggs into one basket, the Battlefront series would be a short-lived phenomenon.

So, if space combat and ground to space combat appear to be reserved for future Battlefront games, what can we expect for the DLC packs? We already know that Chewbacca is part of Battlefront and likely to feature in DLC, but what other heroes are on the horizon? What foes will they face? And what kind of modes can we anticipate? The release date for this content can't be that far off. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
