If all the excitement about the X-Files returning is getting to be too much, why not alleviate some of the pent up energy by watching the first minute of the new series?
After a 13 year absence, memories of past top secret missions may be a little hazy for viewers, so Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) guides us through a brief synopsis to get us back on track. Check out the video below:
Even this tiny fragment of the six part tenth season is enough to get the heart fluttering a little quicker. Both Duchonvny and Gillian Anderson (who of course plays Dana Scully) will reprise their roles.
In the narration, Mulder discusses his motivation for continuing with the X-Files:
"In 2002, in a change of direction and policy the FBI closed the X-Files and our investigations ceased.
"But my personal obsession did not."
I Want To Believe
The original series ran from 1993 to 2002, and the success of the show also resulted in a spin-off feature, The X-Files: I Want to Believe in 2008. You can check out the trailer for the new season below:
With the two lead actors returning, and the original writing team of Chris Carter, James Wong, Glen Morgan, and Darin Morgan scripting the mini-series, everything suggests the standard will pick up where it left off.
Season 10 of the 'X-Files' will premiere on Fox on January 24, 2016.
